Policy Paper Writing for representatives of organization "Philanthropy"

BOS trainers held training on policy paper writing for 15 representatives Charity Fund of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Philantropy". The seminar was held in monastery Studenica, in period of 27 – 30th of June.

New seminar "Writing Effective Policy Papers"

BOS team of trainers held another seminar on writing effective policy papers for representatives of Serbian government. The seminar was held in castle Dundjerski, in period of 23 - 25th May. There were 27 participants, representatives of Serbian public administration. Partners on this project were Serbian Government EU Integration Office, Hans Seidel Stiftung and Fund for an Open Society. |

Team of BOS trainers, in cooperation with Charity Fund of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Philantropy" held seminar "Training on Policy Paper Writing". Participants were 12 representatives of this humanitarian organization. The seminar was held in Monastery of St. Nicolas in Soko Grad, in period of 16-19th of May 2006. |

Training on Policy Paper Writing for representatives of NGOs

Belgrade Open School PPW trainers held another seminar “Writing effective policy papers”. The seminar was organized in cooperation with The Jefferson Institute. There were 10 participants, representatives of non-governmental organizations from Serbia. The seminar was held in Belgrade, in period of 11-13th of May. Next task for participants is writing policy papers that will be presented on the follow up meeting in Belgrade in early July. |

Another "Writing effective policy papers" seminar finished succesfully
|
Belgrade Open School, in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and Serbian Government EU Integration Office, organized another seminar “Training on Writing Effective Policy Papers”. Seminar was held on Zlatibor, in hotel “Ratko Mitrovic”, in period of 23 to 26th March 2006. There were 29 participants, officials of ministries in Serbian Government, Parliament, EU Integration Office, Chamber of commerce and Coordination centre of Serbia and Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohia.

Belgrade Open School, in cooperation with the Fund for an Open Society - Serbia, Local Government and Public Administration Reform Initiative (LGI) and Office for association with the EU of the Government of the Republic of Serbia has initiated the project "Writing effective policy papers to influence decision-making: Training of Trainers course". The goal of this project is to give contribution to further development of open and democratic society in Serbia, by training government officials to write high-quality policy papers, key tool in promoting a more inclusive and transparent policy making process. In that sense, through this project, Belgrade open School will:
- equip 8 local trainers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively deliver training in policy paper
- organize trainings for 82 government officials:
- 22 government officials will pass a training in English, brought by Eoin Young and Lisa Quinn, and
- 60 government officials will pass a training in Serbian, brought by the new trainers;
- review and publish the Serbian translation of LGI guidebook "Writing Effective Public Policy Papers" ¨(Eoin Young and Lisa Quinn, Budapest , 2002);
- build a network of trainers and participants to upgrade writing skills throughout Serbia
